FPV Drone Racing

So what exactly is FPV Drone Racing?

The short explanation is badass!!

"A technologically enabled out of body experience"

Filmmaking drones have given birth to a new sport: first person view drone racing. The first event took place last year in Argonay, France. Watch the video by clicking the above image. I really don't get why fellow FPV pilots are struggling with this. Every bystander thinks they're drones. Manufacturers have started calling them drones... If I tell someone that I'm getting ready to fly a quadcopter they don't realize that I'm going to be covering the entire area of a park or garage. If I tell them I'm flying a drone they instantly get the implication. All good. The term "drone" is here to stay...a handful of enthusiasts insisting on one term over another wont dictate common perception. To some people a "quad" is a four-wheeled off road vehicle, and for me at least, quadcopter and multirotor are a mouthful....The media has, and will continue to, called them "drones" in the majority of stories/reporting. Letting facts get in the way of a good sensationalist headline has never been a priority when selling the story. My intention was just to share the vid with those who need/want some info on goggle selection for racing.
